Chie Mihara Shoes

An exceptional designer with a love of comfort

Chie is a Japanese name, meaning ‘wisdom, a thousand blessings…’

In 1968, the designer Chie Mihara was born in Brazil of Japanese parents. At the age of 18, she moved to Japan to study and work in fashion design. She then moved to New York to continue her studies and gain work experience. This included an internship at an orthopaedic shoe store where she learned about foot anatomy.

At 27, she moved to Spain – the hub of a major shoe industry.  She launched her own line, manufactured in Spain, in December 2001 and she has been nominated for several awards, including best newcomer 2006.

The concept of Chie Mihara footwear is design, comfort and quality.  Chie doesn’t follow any specific trend but she loves fashion.  Her wish is to create shoes which have something to communicate - a feeling, a state of mind, or a state of heart. Chie Mihara also admires the work of an artisan - somebody who ‘lives’ their own creations.

To create is to give life – to give a little happiness with her creations.
