The brand which changed shoemaking.
ECCO was founded in 1963 when Birthe and Karl Toosbuy sold all their possessions and moved to the rural village of Bredebro in Denmark. From its humble origins as a single factory building, ECCO soon began to grow - fuelled by a pioneering spirit and a determination to make shoes which provide natural comfort. Always looking to the future, ECCO is a pioneer in fusing innovative technology, European design and traditional craftsmanship with a profound understanding of the human foot and how it works.
Ecco have developed their own technologies, particularly the direct moulding of PU soles onto their shoes. The combination of soft leathers, flexible, cushioned, hardwearing soles and Ecco’s unique flair for design has created the Ecco we know today.
A global company, Ecco remain unique in controlling the whole manufacturing process with their own tanneries and factories across the world.
