Anatomic Gel is a fair trade, fair wage company and are now South America’s largest mens casual shoe manufacturer. ‘Zuza’ founded the company over 40 years ago, after learning his craft in shoe technology centres in the Sao Paulo area. His aim was to use the fine raw materials available in Brazil to create fantastically comfortable Men’s shoes.
Anatomic Gel specialise in using super-soft full grain leathers which are tumbled backwards and forwards in large revolving drums until an amazing level of softness is achieved. The seamless linings use the finest Brazilian chamois leathers and the deep, soft foot-beds a flexible memory foam material.
The soles are made from 100% natural Brazilian rubber gel from Brazilian rubber trees - a natural and renewable resource – and are a patented design invented by the owner of the company. Instead of having the usual hollowed-out criss-cross pattern inside the sole, there is a series of horizontal ‘fillets’ which are angled so that they compress when pressure is applied, adding to the effective depth of the internal cushion and to the shoe’s overall comfort and flexibility.
